Connecting The Dots For Educators And Families
Join The Brain & Gut Movement™
The Brain & Gut Movement™ training creates resources for Educators and Families. We aim to help build and support parents, caregivers, and teachers' resilience and guide children to find more safety and comfort in their brains and bodies. This will improve learning through a bottom-up approach and build their self-esteem and social engagement. This will lead to more meaningful connections to themselves as individuals, their families, and the world around them.

Working with delayed speech
Use a child's sensory system to develop the brain, digestive, and nervous systems. By joining the Brain & Gut Movement™, you'll be provided with the age-appropriate tools to better assist each child at their level.
Take The First Step
Understanding and advancing a child’s neurological development is critical
from birth. The Brain & Gut Movement™ is simplifying the information needed to educate and enhance the conceptual understanding of early childhood development and signs of delays. By providing knowledge of the internal processes, educators will further understand that a child will do well when they can.
Intentional enrichment builds on a child's knowledge to recognize the self-Regulatory, linguistic, cognitive, and social benefits that play an active role in their development.
Creating A Community
Children are active creators of their understanding of the world around them; they benefit from initiating and regulating their learning activities and interacting with peers. If we equip them with the proper tools to understand their nervous system and how to self-regulate by teaching them strategies that will help them at their level, the chances of creating confident students increase exponentially.
Reducing Stressors In School
What We Know
-
When children appear to be intentionally not listening or acting out in disruptive ways, understanding the potential underlying causes helps create empathy about the behaviors instead of an experience. In contrast, adults may feel disrespected, frustrated, and unheard.
-
In our experience, it's often the case that children are not listening because they can't. They are either in shut-down, fight/flight, experiencing physical or emotional distress, or may have an Auditory Processing Disorder that prevents the brain from making coherence out of the words, and so on.
What Can Help
-
Lighting significantly affects mood by adding special filters to existing panels or swapping bulbs. Kids and teachers reported feeling better.
-
Educating young minds about their brains and bodies: Sharing with them what's happening when they get "crazy brain" and how some of these tools can make them feel better helps them today, tomorrow, and for years to come.
-
No child wants to feel like they are different or can't complete the same work. We have found that when given the chance, for example, to choose a chair that makes them FEEL better in their body and able to DO better, they are so happy!

Supporting practitioners, teachers, and parents. We share strategies and understanding about how safety in our nervous system is required for all learning and self-regulation and how mobility is responsible for neurological development and recovery. Everyone works together to build solid foundations for children.

The Takeaway For Parents And Educators
Our Philosophy
What Can Help
As educators, parents, and caregivers, your voice is the expected voice of reason and comfort. Your voice's rhythm helps calm and comfort children's nervous systems. Understanding what is happening under the surface for a child helps to create empathy about the behaviors as opposed to an experience where an adult feels disrespected, frustrated, and unheard. We are human; this happens! Our Brain & Gut Movement™ Manual helps Teachers, Parents, and Caregivers do what they do so well with support and collaboration. Together, we can scaffold change for children.
This program was created after hours of discussions and input from teachers, administrators, ESE facilitators, and therapists specializing in Polyvagal Theory and children. Created by BG Mancini, Founder of The Brain & Gut Institute, a Neurodevelopmental specialist and Neuro-Integrative Medicine Practitioner with 25 years of experience helping children and adults find neurological balance in an unbalanced world. We help you learn to identify the root causes of common childhood issues.
